by Professor Stanislas Dehaene. In this lecture, Professor Dehaene discusses specific areas of the brain associated with reading and the process by which one learns to read. Additionally, he discusses how having knowledge of how the brain learns to read can help educators better understand their students. Based on this video and your assigned reading for this week, answer the following questions in a three-to four- page (not including title and reference pages) APA formatted research paper. Use two full-text scholarly resources (in addition to your text). Leave out personal pronouns (DO NOT USE “I” statements) — formulate this paper using scholarly research and support your statements
- Discuss the brain structures and neural pathways involved in reading. Use examples from theory and research to support your response.
- Children fail to read for a number of reasons, either genetic or biological (Jossey-Bass Reader, 2007). Explain one reason why a child has difficulty learning to read that is mentioned in your book (visual processing, auditory processing, problems in language/reading pathways, attention and memory systems, etc.). Use examples from theory and research to support your response.
Analyze (based on research/scholarly articles) how a child can be supported in and out of the classroom including specific techniques, approaches, and modifications. Use examples from theory and research to support your response.
