Write

a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper that outlines an intervention plan for changing that behavior, in which you discuss the following:

  • Describe the target behavior.
  • Outline the dimensions of measurement/baseline measurement.
  • Describe the function of the baseline behavior.
  • Outline the goals of the behavioral change.
  • Propose a behavior intervention plan based on goals.

    • Provide a minimum of 2 antecedent changes.
    • Provide 4 to 5 consequence modifications. Choose consequences based on at least four of the following: positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, negative punishment, positive punishment, and extinction.
  • Describe any potential barriers to treatment, as well as how you would overcome these barriers.
  • Describe the expected outcome if the behavior intervention plan was implemented and followed.

Running head: TARGET BEHAVIOR Leo is a student that exhibits signs of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder; Leo comes from a home with three older brothers and one younger sister. Leo often has to forfeit toys to his siblings. In class, Leo is generally calm until the teacher hands out exercises that students have to work together and share items such as coloring books and crayons. Having to work with peers and share class supplements triggers a behavioral change in Leo, he gets aggressive and shoves and punches his peers, his actions make him unpopular which only reinforces the negative behavior. In dealing with Leo, the target behavior is getting Leo to work with peers in class without him resulting to aggressive behavior such as pushing other students and refusing to share items. Simple observation during group work time in class is enough to observe whether Leo is adhering to the target behavior. The teacher will collect data on number of times Leo has cooperated with his peers without turning aggressive, the target is at least a week without any aggression from Leo.
