The discussion paper should include the following:
1) Find and describe an advertisement that you believe is deceptive.
2) Identify what it is about the advertisement that you believe is deceptive.
3) Explain how this relates to the issues discussed in the(( PowerPoint )) on deceptive advertising:
(i) Is the deception due to the nature of the ad, or to the impacts it has on consumers? (If the latter, is it likely to deceive many reasonable consumers or only a few ignorant consumers?)
(ii) Does the ad create false beliefs, or does it simply take advantage of people’s ignorance or psychology?
4) What changes would be required to make the ad ethically acceptable, and how would those changes make the ad ethically acceptable?
